Join us for an afternoon with Forager Caleb Arnold of Everwilder Farms. You will get to know the flavors of southern Appalachia, while preparing a delicious, one-of-a-kind drink of your choosing. These wild brews are a great way to enjoy the abundant, local nutrition that surrounds us. Explore various natural flavors through roots, shoots, bark, leaves & more.

We will cover plant ID in the 1st part of the class, harvest in the field, and then move to the Apothecary Barn to make our ferments. You'll learn how simple and safe at-home fermentation can be.

Fermentation has been a staple of food preservation for centuries and this is a great introduction to using wild yeasts. Each participant will sample finished product and take home a bottle of their own concoction to let ferment before enjoying. All materials provided.
